Venezuela Earthquake 2026: SAI Foundation Delivers Emergency Surgical Supplies to Overwhelmed Hospital in Puerto Cabello

Report | Jun 29, 2026 | Luis Maldonado
Venezuela's hospitals were already in crisis before the June 24th earthquake — now they are at a breaking point. The SAI Foundation visited the Dr. Adolfo Prince Lara Hospital in Puerto Cabello and took immediate action, purchasing and delivering critical surgical supplies the same day to help staff care for a surge of wounded patients.

In Venezuela, many of our hospitals are already facing a harsh crisis due to the shortage of supplies. In the face of a situation that was already difficult, the catastrophe caused by the earthquake of last June 24 has made it almost unsustainable for medical staff to care for such a large volume of patients.

Confronted with this reality, at the SAI Foundation we went directly to one of the affected healthcare centers: the Dr. Adolfo Prince Lara Hospital, in Puerto Cabello. There, after speaking with the head of the Pharmacy and Warehouse department, they explained to us that the most urgent need at that moment was specialized medical equipment for the surgeries of the wounded, mainly pediatric lines and surgical dressings to prevent subsequent infections.

Seeing firsthand the needs and the enormous effort that all the hospital staff was making to receive the growing number of patients, the SAI team mobilized to support by purchasing and delivering the necessary supplies for the surgeries that very same day.

At the SAI Foundation, we do everything possible to accompany and relieve those who suffer the most in the midst of this terrible crisis. You can also be a part of this: with your donation, you ensure that help keeps arriving exactly where it is needed most.
