SAI-A&G Q2 Sanctuary 2025 Venezuela Update: Holding the Line for 88 Lives and Fighting for Funds
By Emanuel Espin | Project Manager

As the second quarter closes, the SAI-A&G Sanctuary team wants to share our progress and struggles from April to June 2025. Thanks to your unwavering loyalty, we continue to provide essential care for 88 rescued dogs the current residents of our facility in Venezuela.
The Fight for Every Tail
This quarter has tested our resolve, but every day we show up ready to fight for the survival of the dogs currently in our care. Despite the immense financial pressures, our commitment remains the same: to provide high-quality shelter, food, and medical attention.
Even in this challenging time, we celebrated moments of breakthrough, particularly with our long-term residents.
Luna’s Leap of Faith
We were thrilled this quarter to witness the beautiful transformation of Luna. When she first arrived, Luna was rescued from a dangerous roadside and was paralyzed by fear. She would hide in the corner of her kennel, too nervous to accept treats or even make eye contact. Our team focused on gentle, consistent engagement, slowly coaxing her out of her shell. She is now engaging with other dogs in the sanctuary.
Food Distribution (April to June 2025)
Regular, nutritious meals are the foundation of recovery. From April through June, we distributed 5,280 pounds of high-quality food to ensure our 88 residents maintained healthy weights and strong immune systems. Every meal provided during this period was a direct result of the emergency donations we received.
We Need Your Help to Maintain the Line
As mentioned in our last update, the loss of our main donor (who supplied nearly 90% of our funding) continues to be a severe challenge. We are intensely focused on getting new donors to support the sanctuary.
We must keep the doors open, the water running, and the medical supplies stocked. While we have had to keep new rescues temporarily paused, our sole purpose is to protect the vulnerable lives already entrusted to us.
Your support right now is not just about helping; it's about joining us in this fight for survival. Every donation goes directly in purchasing the food and medicine needed today to keep these 88 dogs healthy. Together, we can stabilize our funding and secure the future of SAI-A&G Sanctuary.
