Medical Clinic: 1,782 Patients Treated
The SAI Medical Clinic provided comprehensive care to 1,782 patients in 2025, offering specialized consultations in general medicine and gynecology. Of that total, 1,135 patients were treated directly at the Valencia clinic, which continues to serve as the primary healthcare hub.
Laboratory services carried a significant share of the year. The team processed 6,008 essential laboratory tests across the Valencia and Caracas locations, driven by constant demand for timely and accurate diagnoses. These tests make early detection possible, and early detection is often what turns a treatable condition into a resolved one. By offering diagnostics at an accessible cost, the clinic removes the financial barrier that keeps many patients from seeking care at all.
Orphanages Program: 19,573 Pounds of Food and Care for 180 Children
Between April and September 2025, the SAI Orphanages Program distributed 19,573 pounds of food across the four facilities it supports. Deliveries included rice, pasta, and cornmeal, along with a steady supply of protein through eggs, lentils, beans, and chicken, plus fresh fruits and vegetables.
Nutrition is only part of the picture. The team provided ongoing medical care to 180 orphans throughout this period, including bi weekly visits for general consultations and laboratory testing to detect and treat common conditions such as parasites and infections. These routine services are what allow each child to grow up safe, healthy, and cared for.
This program is strengthened by the partnership of the Simón Bolívar Foundation, whose support has been essential to its success.
SAI-A&G Sanctuary: 19,525 Pounds of Food for 88 Dogs
Over eleven months of 2025, the SAI-A&G Sanctuary distributed 19,525 pounds of high quality food, maintaining the health and immune systems of the 88 dogs in its care. Regular, nutritious meals gave these animals the stability they needed to stay strong and well cared for all year.
The sanctuary is now entering a new phase. The South American Initiative is expanding its goals beyond operating its own shelters to provide support, resources, and expertise to other sanctuaries and shelters. This strategic renewal broadens the foundation’s impact on animal welfare throughout the region.
Animal Rescue Program: 4,192 Pounds Delivered to Sans Souci
Throughout 2025, the SAI Animal Rescue Program delivered 4,192 pounds of specialized food and nutritional resources to the monkeys at the Sans Souci Sanctuary. Deliveries included plantains, bananas, papaya, and eggs, giving the primates the balanced diet they need to stay healthy.
The priority for the year was continuity, making sure the sanctuary never went without. That consistency has been central to the recovery and well being of the animals living there. The foundation is currently renewing the objectives of this program to strengthen and sustain its primate rescue work over the long term.
The Year Ahead
The need has not shrunk. There are still orphaned children waiting for consistent meals, patients who cannot afford a diagnosis, and sanctuaries operating at the edge of their resources. What 2025 proved is that steady support produces steady results, month after month, across every program.
