Food Deliveries to the Zoos in Venezuela

SAI (South American Initiative), a dedicated non-profit in Venezuela, extends its wildlife rescue efforts to include birds of prey, ensuring their protection and rehabilitation. This image captures a striking bird perched on a branch, its dark head contrasting with a yellowish throat and chest. The bird clutches a pink object in its talons—possibly a piece of food—illustrating its natural feeding behavior. The surrounding green foliage and branches reinforce the semi-natural environment where rescued birds are cared for. Thanks to the dedication of volunteers and the generosity of donors, SAI continues to provide shelter and expert care for vulnerable wildlife across Venezuela.

Food Deliveries to the Zoos

SAI staff continuously works closely with partners to rescue and care for injured and sick wild animals. In August, SAI partners rescued a hawk that was found injured. The hawk had a broken wing, it was taken to the facility and received the necessary treatment and medication. Presently, the hawk has been returned to its natural habitat in the forest.
